Organisers Page: Ugent Messages

These pages are intended for competition organisers and supplement the direct mailings you will have received.

Description of the Service
Urgent messages that you send to us will be relayed to all users as soon as possible. However, no guarantee can be given about the response time of this service. If we are on holiday, nothing will be done until we return. Usually, E-mail will be read daily.

Similarly, no guarantee can be given about the users of the website. They may not be your intended recipients of the message. They may chose not to read the message.

This page describes:

  • sending urgent messages
  • preparation and loading/forwarding of urgent messages
  • making users aware

    Sending Urgent Messages
It is suggested that messages are sent to us by E-mail, Website comment box (which uses E-mail), telephone (for number see letter heading), word of mouth (or via a friend) or post (for address see letter heading). Fax (using the same telephone number) can only be used by arrangement.

    Loading/Forwarding of Urgent Messages
Urgent messages will be loaded as soon as possible and given a page to themselves.
Where appropriate recipients electronic mail (E-mail) addresses are known, the urgent messages will also be sent by E-mail to them. A list of swimmers E-mail addresses is maintained for this purpose, but is limited in numbers at present. The address list is confidential to avoid recipients being bombarded with junk mail / spam.

    Making Users Aware
References (Hypertext links) to urgent messages will be added to the "Whats New List" which is the first port of call for most users of the website, and to the competition's "home page". Many users are made aware of the E-mail in their in-tray, upon logging on to the Internet.

    The Costs
    There are none.
