Description of the Service
The service makes use of compressed digital audio (.WAV) recording
to record any message or item of headline news that is topical.
The audio messages are given a title that users select and are listed in reverse date order (newest at top of list).
Users "play" the messages from their browser using standard software (e.g. Windows 95's Media Player) that is provided with most Personal Computers that are equiped with a sound board and speakers. The effect is "rustic" and sounds like a "tinny" transistor radio.
Older messages are archived so that they can be accessed by users.
Recording the Digital Audio Messages
Usually, we will record the audio message for you.
You just supply the message in text form, either:
Let us know exactly what you want recorded, including any special emphasis.
Alternatively, if you know how, you can record your own digital audio messages and send them on floppy disk or in an e-mail.
Be aware that the messages should be compact - with a maximum size of 50 Kb.
Preparation and Loading Of Digital Audio Messages
We will do this for you.
As mentioned earlier, the audio messages are given a title that users select and are listed in reverse date order (newest at top of list).
Making Users Aware
Radio Swim appears as a link on the front page of the website.
There are no other user awareness actions.
