Help in setting up your own/swimming club/competition web site

These pages are intended for swimming competition organisers and supplement the direct mailings you will have received.

So, you have decided to take the bold step into web publishing. Well done and I wish you success. I am grateful because it means less work for me. Here are a few things you might like to consider.

Description of the Service
While you may be able to get your own swimming web site up and running without any help, there are still several ways that I may be able to help.

    Most of the information on this site originated from you, the organisers. So if you want to use it on your own site, please do. If you need any help in doing this, please let me know via E-mail or via my comment box.

    Promoting and Linking to your Site
    As standard practice, I include links to all British Swimming Competition, Club, and personal sites in the "Links" section as soon as I am made aware of their existence.
    (I cannot do overseas sites, unless there is some reciprocal arrangement, it is too much effort and there are other sites that do this, such as the Swimming Yellow Pages.)

    Also I will put a link at the top of the "Whats New List" which is the first port of call for most users of this website, so that swimmers from this site will be aware of your new site.

    Co-Operations
    I will continue to promote your swimming event as much as possible without duplicating what you are doing. In return I would appreciate a link from your site to this one.

    Don't expect instant mass invasion of you site by millions of readers. It takes time for swimmers to find and explore sites of interest. And you need to keep the information up-to-date and fresh to get continued visits.

    If you need to use any of the services that are listed in this section, e.g. video clips, pool panoramas, etc., on your own site, this is possible so just ask. You may not have the video equipment, optical scanner/OCR software, or other facilities, but I may be able to do the job for you (if its not too big).
