British Swimming Competitions Website on CD

Copies of this website are now available on CD. Save yourself many hours of telephone bills and keep a permanent record of everything that's on the site.

Contents: The CD includes all results (that we have) for 1998 and earlier. Hundreds of photographs and video clips, and about 3000 swimmer profiles including Masters. It covers about 300 Age Group/Open competitions and about 70 Masters competitions in various degrees. For some competitions there is no information other than a Name/Title, for others there are entry forms, programmes, results, photographs and many hours of video clips. The CD contains just under 10,000 files that occupy over 600Mb.

Readability: The CD is recorded in ISO 9660 format which is readable on most modern CD readers. It should be fine for those with MS Windows 95 and MS Windows NT 4. Those with early CDROM drives/readers of 12X or less may encounter difficulties. Users of MS Windows 3.1 and 3.11 may encounter problems with files whose names contain more than 8 characters (there are very few of these).

It is not (currently) known if the CD is readable on Apple, Sun or other systems with non-Microsoft operating systems. Buy at your own risk. Please let us know how you get on so that we can advise other potential purchasers who have such systems.

The CD is recorded using Adaptec(R) DirectCD(TM). Every CD is test read to ensure the main sections are accessible, before it is sold.

Be warned that some browsers may not be able to interpret all the files on the CD correctly, e.g. some Java script and dynamic HTML files. Some files require the use of additional tools and browser plugins e.g Real Player for video clips and Koan plugin for swimming music.
